Digital Menu Package

The Digital Menu package lets you build and publish a digital menu for your restaurant, accessible by guests via QR code. Organise your offerings into menus, categories, and items — each with photos, prices, allergens, and dietary tags — and enrich the page with your opening hours, address, social links, and live Google rating.

# Overview

The package is built around four entities that form a hierarchy:

  • Menus — the top-level container. A restaurant can have multiple menus (e.g. Breakfast, Lunch, Drinks). Each menu has its own public URL.
  • Categories — sections within a menu (e.g. Starters, Main Course, Desserts). Categories can be reordered and each can have a photo.
  • Menu Items — individual dishes or products within a category, with full detail: photo, prices, ingredients, allergens, tags, and calories.
  • Ingredients — a shared library of ingredients that can be attached to any menu item. Each ingredient can optionally be flagged as an allergen.
lightbulbThe number of menus you can create depends on the Digital Menu quantity in your subscription plan.

Navigate to Packages → Digital Menu → Menus to manage your menus. Creating or editing a menu opens the Menu Builder — a split-view interface with an editor on the left and a live customer preview on the right.

Menu-level settings are grouped into four tabs (Details, Information, Social, Google Business Profile) — see Menu Settings below. The Details tab holds the menu header:

  • Logo — an optional logo shown at the top of the public menu.
  • Cover photo — an optional image displayed below the logo.
  • Name — the title of the menu (e.g. Summer Menu 2026).
  • Description — a short summary shown below the title.

The footer of the editor provides two save actions:

  • Save — saves and redirects back to the menu list.
  • Save & stay — saves and remains on the current editor page.
lightbulbThe customer preview on the right updates in real time as you type. You can open the live public page at any time using the Open link in the preview pane header.

# Menu Settings

The tabs at the top of the Menu Builder configure how the menu looks and what extra information it shows to guests.

# Details

  • Title, Logo, Cover, Description — the menu header.
  • Template — how items are displayed: List (classic rows) or Tiles (a photo-first card grid).
  • Users can search — adds a search box at the top of the menu so guests can filter items by name, description, or ingredients.
  • More options — the menu currency and the languages the menu is available in.

# Information

Store information shown to guests as a side card on the public menu:

  • Address — street, city, postal code, region, country, and an optional Google Maps link.
  • Phone and Email.
  • Opening hours — turn on Configure opening hours to set hours per day. Each day can be marked Closed or given one or more time intervals; use + Add interval for split shifts (e.g. a lunch and a dinner service).

# Social

Add social and external links (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, website, and more). Click Manage links to add, reorder, or remove them. Each link is shown with its real brand icon on the public menu.

# Google Business Profile

Search for your business on Google and link it to the menu. Once linked, the public menu shows a rating widget with your star rating, review count, and a See on Google link. The rating is fetched from Google and cached, refreshing periodically.

lightbulbThe Google rating requires the Google Places API to be enabled for the platform. If it is not configured, the linked business simply shows without a rating — nothing else is affected.

# Categories

Categories are managed directly inside the Menu Builder. Each category appears as a collapsible panel in the editor.

  • Click + Add first category (or + New category at the bottom) to create a new category.
  • Click on a category header to expand or collapse it.
  • Use the ↑ / ↓ buttons to reorder categories.
  • Click the delete icon on a category header to remove it along with all its items.
  • Use Expand all / Collapse all to manage multiple categories at once.

Each category has the following fields (visible when expanded):

  • Photo — an optional image for the category header.
  • Name — the category title (e.g. Starters).
  • Description — an optional short description.
warningOnly categories with Active status are shown on the public menu. Inactive categories are hidden from guests.

Items are added within a category by clicking + New item. Each item is displayed as a row showing its thumbnail and price(s). Clicking an item row opens the Item Editor modal with the following fields:

# Ingredients

Search and attach ingredients from the shared library. As you type, matching suggestions appear in a dropdown. Press Enter or select a suggestion to attach it. If no match is found, pressing Enter creates a new ingredient on the fly. Attached ingredients appear as removable chips above the search field.

# Prices

Each item can have one or more price entries. A single price needs no label. Click + Multiple sizes / portions to add additional price rows — each with an optional label (e.g. Portion, Half portion) and an amount in EUR. Remove any extra price row with the delete icon.

# Tags

Select one or more dietary or descriptive tags. Active tags are highlighted and displayed as badges on the public menu. Items tagged Signature or New also get a Popular ribbon in the Tiles template. Available tags:

  • Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free
  • Spicy, Hot, Cold
  • New, Signature

# Allergens

Toggle the allergens present in the item. Active allergens are highlighted and shown as badges on the public menu. Supported allergens:

  • Gluten, Lactose, Eggs, Nuts, Peanuts, Soy
  • Fish, Shellfish, Sesame, Mustard, Celery, Sulphites

# Calories & Availability

  • Calories — optional numeric value in kcal, displayed on the public menu.
  • Availability — toggle an item as available or unavailable. Unavailable items remain visible in the editor (marked with an off badge) but are hidden from guests on the public menu.
lightbulbUse the ↑ / ↓ buttons on each item row to reorder items within a category without opening the editor modal.

# Ingredients Library

Navigate to Packages → Digital Menu → Ingredients to manage the shared ingredient library. Each ingredient has:

  • Name — the ingredient name (supports translation).
  • Is Allergen — a flag that marks the ingredient as an allergen across all menus where it is used.
lightbulbIngredients created on the fly from the item editor are saved to the library automatically and become available for reuse in other items.

# Public Menu

Each menu has a unique public URL in the format /menu/:id. This page is accessible without login and is intended to be linked from a QR code for guests to scan.

The public menu displays:

  • The menu logo, cover photo, name, and description.
  • All active categories with their items — photos, prices, tags, allergen badges, and calories. In the Tiles template, items appear as a photo-first card grid.
  • A search box when Users can search is enabled, filtering items as the guest types.
  • Side cards for Information (address & opening hours), Categories quick-navigation, Links (social), and the Google rating. On desktop they sit beside the menu; on mobile they open from fixed side icons.
  • Item images open in a lightbox. Videos play automatically.
lightbulbYou can find the public URL for any menu on the Packages → Digital Menu → Overview page under Latest entries, or via the Open link in the Menu Builder preview pane.
warningCategories or items set to Inactive are not displayed on the public menu, even if the menu itself is active.
